The global consequences of the American war on Iran.

The world is on the brink of another global conflict. On February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel targeted Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei at his residence in Tehran. This war has escalated to unprecedented levels. Ali Khamenei was not only the supreme leader of Iran but also an Islamic jurist for many Muslims, particularly Shia Muslims around the world. His assassination has triggered waves of violence globally. In Pakistan alone, more than 25 people have died in attacks on U.S. embassies, UN offices, and other related infrastructure.

Shia Muslims believe that their Twelfth Imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi, is in occultation, which means he went into concealment by God's command in 260 A.H., and is alive, overseeing the world until he reappears to establish justice. In his absence, a Faqih carries out religious and political duties. A Faqih is a qualified Islamic jurist. The concept of Wilayat al-Faqih, or Guardianship of the Jurist, has emerged to facilitate the leadership of the Twelfth Imam until his return. This system was established following the Iranian Revolution of 1979.

The Guardianship of the Jurist selects one among themselves to be a Faqih, who exercises oversight over political and religious legislation. A Faqih must be pious, righteous, and virtuous. He has the authority to issue decrees and adapt political and Islamic teachings to the changing circumstances in the world. As a Faqih, Ali Khamenei's job was to implement Islamic teachings and uphold an Islamic system. It is his duty to support oppressed Muslims in Gaza, as the Quran says it is the duty of every Muslim to support their brothers and sisters who face oppression and hardship.

Israel has occupied Palestinian land through oppression, and the Western world, especially the United States, has supported these actions despite the human rights violations occurring in the occupied territories. Ali Khamenei has aided Hamas in opposing the interests of both the United States and Israel. On October 6, 2024, Hamas attacked Israel, resulting in casualties and numerous hostages. In response, Israel has reportedly killed over 75,000 Palestinian Muslims and engaged in a 12-day direct conflict with Iran.

This ongoing war represents the culmination of years of planning by Israel to draw the United States into conflict and eliminate Iran as a perceived threat to its existence. Political commentators suggest that Israel aims to establish a "Greater Israel," which would include Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Iran. President Donald Trump has become a scapegoat for Israel's alleged sinister planning. Meanwhile, there is strong evidence linking Trump to the Epstein conspiracy, which some believe has been orchestrated by the Zionist lobby to manipulate influential people around the world. The implications of the Epstein revelations could spell the end of Trump’s presidency and tarnish his legacy. Critics argue that Israel is blackmailing Trump, leading him into an unprecedented war.

Donald Trump claims to wage war against Iran based on false information. He asserts that Iran is developing a nuclear weapon, even though previous U.S. administrations, including President Obama's, signed a nuclear deal with Iran. This agreement included assurances that Iran would use nuclear energy solely for peaceful purposes. During his first term, Trump unilaterally withdrew from this deal and imposed sanctions on Iran.

Additionally, the Trump administration argues that Iran has an oppressive regime that restricts the freedoms and rights of its people. However, recent events contradict this claim; many Iranians took to the streets in solidarity with their government following the assassination of the Supreme Leader. Trump alleges that Iran poses a threat to U.S. interests and allies in the region, particularly Israel. It is important to note that since its revolution, Iran has never attacked U.S. bases in the region nor has it engaged in direct confrontation with Israel.

This recent war has significantly impacted the global economy. Iran has issued a warning that it will not permit any ships to cross the Strait of Hormuz, through which more than 20 percent of the world's oil passes daily. Oil prices have surged. In Pakistan, the price of petroleum has risen by 21 percent. In the United States, gasoline prices jumped 14% in a week, reaching $3.41 per gallon.

International law has been openly violated, as an unarmed Iranian naval ship was hit by the United States and sunk in the Arabian Sea, and over 170 schoolgirls aged 7 to 12 were killed in Iran. International cargo and air traffic have come to a halt, leading to billions in losses for Dubai and other countries in the region.

European countries have opposed the unilateral aggression. Israel and the US are losing international support; nations such as China, Spain, Indonesia, and Russia have condemned this conflict as a violation of international law and Iran's sovereignty. Arab countries suffer losses in infrastructure, economy, and tourism. They are reconsidering their support for the United States, which appears to prioritize Israel over its other allies amidst attacks from Iran.

It appears that Iran is currently winning the war both strategically and militarily. The Iranian military is effectively utilizing inexpensive drones, while its opponents are relying on costly missiles. The situation is becoming increasingly clear: the adversaries are losing their financial and military resources. Iran claims to possess drone and missile stockpiles that can sustain their efforts for the next ten years. In the initial phases of the conflict, they have significantly damaged American bases in the region. The goal of regime change in Iran is unattainable for the adversaries. The assassination of Ali Khamenei has not only unified the Iranian populace but has also brought together Shia and Sunni Muslims across the world. This war has rekindled their shared aspiration for a united Muslim Ummah and reignited their long-held hope for a free Jerusalem.
